She was nominated in 2014 for a Northwest Regional Emmy Award for her special "The Road to We Day", a special on local youth community involvement. Displaying signs of growth and popularity, she later became a co-anchor for the network however Kaci still to this day also acts as a feature reporter citing the fact that she loves to hear people talk about their stories while straying away from unpleasant news stories. Īfter a decade of radio work she decided to pursue with TV stations and after hosting a car show for sales via the Q13Fox network, she was later joined the "Q13 FOX News This Morning" as a features reporter in August 2009. While she was studying in college, she also helped out another radio station, The Bob Rivers Show on KZOK-FM and later becoming a News Director there. After a period of advertising, the boss of the radio station asked Kaci to cover traffic reports for the afternoon show, later becoming a co-host for the show. Kaci later worked at a radio station, KBKS-FM (106.1 KISS FM) under the promotions department handing out concert tickets as well as occasionally advertising on-air. With an interest towards broadcasting, she started applying for internships at multiple TV stations but was later unsuccessful during her sophomore years in college. 2.1 2013-present: Auditioning for TI, Interviewer and backstage hostīorn and raised in Seattle, Kaci is a University of Washington alumni.In May 2019, Moxxi became the first ever female commentator to cast an entire Dota Pro Circuit Grand Finals on LAN.Her username "Moxxi" is reference to the Borderlands character "Mad Moxxi" one of her favorite characters.Moxxi was most notably a panelist and caster on the Dota 2 Pro Circuit in DreamLeague Seasons 10 and 11.Īt The International 2021 she became the first woman to cast a Main Event match at The International as part of the English broadcast, commentating Team Secret vs Invictus Gaming in the Upper Bracket. Since then Moxxi has been able to dedicate herself full-time to casting, and has been involved in multiple high-profile international broadcasts for Dreamhack and ESL events. Moxxi continued to impress, becoming a finalist in Epicenter XL's casting competition, and was later handpicked to be an official caster for the TI8 Regional Qualifiers, only a year after appearing on the Caster Crucible.Īfter the summer of 2018, Moonduck Studios signed Moxxi as one of their official casters. Moxxi's performance was a huge hit with viewers, and caught the attention of Moonduck Studios, who offered Moxxi freelance work casting up and coming online tournaments in the CIS region. The Caster Crucible was an alternative stream of the TI7 Regional Qualifiers, where aspiring casters could test out their skills in front of an online audience. The following year after being encouraged by a friend, Moxxi entered an amateur caster event called "The Caster Crucible", organised by Moonduck Studios. By 2016, Moxxi was heavily involved in the grassroots Dota scene in America, providing free commentary for online leagues such as NoTA, LD2SL, Requiem Autumn and Echo League. Moxxi's casual inhouse casts caught the attention of her audience, who began requesting her to cast their amateur tournament games. Moxxi became hooked on Dota 2 after witnessing S4's Million Dollar Dream Coil at the International 3, and soon began streaming on Twitch, organising inhouses for her growing viewer base.
